Over the past several months Zone Six has experienced a dramatic increase in various crimes (Robberies, Burglaries, Arsons, Theft From Autos, etc.) in the Sheraden section of Pittsburgh. Through the course of the investigation our detectives were able to identify a group of juvenile actors, ranging in age from nine to 15 year-of-age, who are believed to be responsible for well over 40 crimes. As of today four juveniles have been charged with various offenses and the mother of two of the juveniles, Rebecca Hutchinson (B/F 35 from Sheraden) has been charged with 5 counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children.

B/M 15 from Sheraden was charged with the following crimes:

4 counts of Arson, 2 Counts of Robbery, Simple Assault and Criminal Conspiracy, 2 counts of Criminal Attempt Burglary and Criminal Conspiracy, 1 count of Risking a Catastrophe, 2 counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, 1 count of Felony Criminal Mischief (7 incidents at a church) and 2 counts of Criminal Mischief.

2 Counts of Robbery, Simple Assault and Criminal Conspiracy

B/M 12 from Sheraden was charged with the following crimes:

1 count of Felony Criminal Mischief (7 incidents at a church)

B/M 9 from Sheraden can’t be charged due to his age but was responsible for breaking church windows with the other juveniles over a period of time.

The investigation is on-going but additional charges of Burglary, Theft From Auto and Criminal Mischief are forthcoming and other juveniles may be charged as well. Zone Six and Arson Detectives did an outstanding job with this investigation and it is hopeful that the quality of life in Sheraden will improve with the identification and arrests of juveniles who have plagued the community with a recent crime wave.

Members of the community are encouraged to call Zone Six Detectives (412-937-3051) if they have additional information about the above mentioned cases. Callers can remain anonymous.
